Like any kind of physical activity, winter sports have a positive effect on health, primarily due to an increase in the motor activity of the training person. Actively working muscles consume more oxygen, due to which there is an oxidation of nutrients with the release of energy. However, when practicing winter sports, you should also remember about some "pitfalls" that may pose a danger to your health. First of all, it is necessary to control the state of health during long-term outdoor exposure at low temperatures. If you feel a strong cold, numbness or tingling in the open areas of the skin and fingers or toes, to avoid frostbite, stop training immediately and move as quickly as possible to the heated room. With intensive motor activity in winter sports, a person can warm up and even strongly sweat, so when the training stops, immediately put on a warm jacket or fur coat, go into a warm room and drink a cup of hot tea to avoid the occurrence of colds. When practicing figure skating, it is very important to observe the safety rules on the ice ground. Remember that careless behavior on the ice and attempts at the first training to perform complex elements of figure skating are fraught with serious consequences for your health in the form of various injuries. Therefore, when practicing winter sports, you should gradually and carefully increase the intensity of the exercises.
