Pea-nut sweetness Today we cook Indian sweets fret. This is a dessert made of pea flour (chickpea flour), butter or melted butter, with nuts, coconut chips and sweet spices: cinnamon, cardamom and nutmeg. Tasting friends said that the sweetness is delicious and looks like a nut shortbread cookie. In my opinion, the fret is one of the most delicious desserts I prepared at the moment. As for the features of cooking, everything is very simple: even a beginner will cope. When selecting ingredients, it is desirable to use chickpea flour, because it makes the cookie tenderly nutty.
Ingredients:- Butter 450 g
- Flour 400g
- Coconut shavings 20 g
- Hazelnut 50 g
- Cardamon 6 pcs.
- Cinnamon powder 1 tsp.
- Nutmeg Ground 5 g
- Sugar powder 250 g
- Step 1 To prepare the fret you need chickpea flour, cream or melted butter, sugar powder, coconut chips, any nuts and spices: ground cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom.
- Step 2 Dry the nuts in a dry frying pan, remove the husks and grind them with a mortar or a rolling pin.
- Step 3 Butter the butter in a frying pan with a thick bottom.
- Step 4 Add the chickpea flour and stirring occasionally for 15 minutes at low heat, a hazel flavor will soon appear.
- Step 5 Then add the ground seeds of cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg, as well as nuts and coconut shavings. All thoroughly mix and keep on fire for about 2-3 minutes until spices reveal their fragrance.
- Step 6 Next, remove the frying pan from the fire and add the powdered sugar. Thoroughly mix everything, breaking the lumps.
- Step 7 Move the mass to a plate and cool to room temperature.
- Step 8 Then, dipping your hands in the water, roll the balls the size of a walnut or more. If desired, decorate with nuts. Put in a cool place for 30 minutes. The dessert is ready!
