Pickled mackerel I suggest preparing marinated mackerel with carrots and onions. For marinating it is better to choose a fat mackerel. Thanks to the fact that we pour fish not cold, but slightly warm marinade, the mackerel becomes softer. Adding carrots and onions to marinade, as well as an interesting addition in the form of fennel seeds makes it tastier. The fish comes out very fragrant and delicious.
Ingredients:- Mackerel 1 pc.
- Salt 1 tbsp. l.
- Sugar 0.75 tbsp. l.
- Water 500 ml
- Table vinegar 5 tbsp. l.
- Bay leaf 3 pcs.
- Pepper black with peas 7 pcs.
- Pepper fragrant 4 pcs.
- Carrot 80g
- Onion 60 g
- Dill dry seeds 1 g
- Step 1 To prepare marinated mackerel with onion and carrots, we need fat mackerel, carrots, onion, salt, sugar, vinegar 9%, bay leaf, fragrant pepper, black pepper, dill seeds.
- Step 2 To prepare marinade, combine water, peppers, bay leaves, dill seeds, salt, sugar.
- Step 3 Add the cleared carrots cut into thin rings.
- Step 4 Add the chopped onion. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Step 5 In mackerel remove head and entrails, wash, dry, cut into pieces 2 cm thick.
- Step 6 Remove the marinade from the fire, pour in the vinegar. Cool for 7 minutes. Marinade should become warm.
- Step 7 Put the mackerel and vegetables from the marinade into the dishes.
- Step 8 Pour marinade and put in refrigerator for 24 hours.
- Step 9 Mackerel is ready!
