Duck in pots with potatoes Duck dishes are not as widely spread as chicken dishes. The reason may be not only that the duck is a fatty bird, but also that its meat and fat have a peculiar smell and taste. However, there are many ways to eliminate all these shortcomings and get a really delicious dish. The main way is to completely fatten the fat from meat pieces and cook potatoes, pasta, etc. on it. It is also important to choose the seasonings and spices correctly.
Ingredients:- Duck thigh 500 g
- Potatoes 6 pcs.
- Carrot 1 pc.
- Onions 1 pc.
- Sour cream 2 tbsp. l.
- Sunflower refined sunflower oil 2 tbsp. l.
- Cumin dry 1 tsp.
- Pepper black ground 1 pinch
- Salt 1 tsp.
- Step 1 To prepare the dish you need to take a piece of duck weighing about 500 grams, potatoes, onions, carrots, vegetable oil, sour cream, cumin seeds, black pepper powder and salt.
- Step 2 Cut the duck together with the skin into small pieces.
- Step 3 Put the duck in a frying pan, pour in 2 tbsp. l. water, cover the frying pan with a lid and put on a very weak fire.
- Step 4 Drain the duck until all of the fat is released. Pieces of meat should be browned.
- Step 5 Peel the onion and finely chop.
- Step 6 Put onion in a frying pan with vegetable oil and save until soft.
- Step 7 Carrots clean and rub on a coarse grater.
- Step 8 Add the carrots to the onions.
- Step 9 Passer until soft carrots.
- Step 10 Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes.
- Step 11 Put the potatoes in a large bowl, sprinkle with pepper, cumin and salt, add onions, carrots and sour cream.
- Step 12 Blend the mixture.
- Step 13 Put the potatoes in pots or, for example, in a pot, leaving a place for meat on top.
- Step 14 On top of the potatoes spread out the duck.
- Step 15 Cover the containers, put in the oven and simmer for 40 minutes.
