We grow tomatoes at home

How delicious are fresh tomatoes! Well, if you have a dacha where you can grow tomatoes of any size. But what about those who do not have their own site? What now, buy tomatoes in the market or in the store? Is not a fact. You can grow tomatoes at home, on the windowsill or on the loggia.

Well, let's just say that you can get large-fruited tomatoes in room conditions, but whether you need it, that's the question !. And such varieties of tomato as Grigorashik (height 25-30 cm, weight of fruit about 30 g), Pinocchio (height of the bush 60 cm, massapoda 15-20 g), Button (height of the bush 60 cm, weight of the fruit 15-20 g), Mikron-NK (the height of the bush is 10-15 cm) and other varieties are quite comfortable feeling on the sill.

The general rules for growing tomatoes are also suitable for one-room varieties, the only problem is the lack of solar energy and light. Even if placed on windowsills; glass delays the infrared rays, so necessary for the plant to fully develop. Therefore, you need to think over the backlighting system (in December for at least 10 hours), preferably daylight lights in yellow, orange or red. If possible, to make combined lighting, then try adding to the colors the above-mentioned purple color of the lamp or use special phytolamps.

It is assumed that all seeds sold in the store have undergone pre-treatment; but just in case, before sowing it is possible to carry out the processing of seeds or, as they say, "charge" with the energy of germination. There are many ways, we will consider only some and choose one: air-thermal: drying, warming up or airing increases the germination of seeds. Hormonization of seeds is soaking in heteroauxin or in a solution of Mullein in a ratio of 1: 4 with water, followed by washing with clean water and drying the seeds for 2 hours prior to sowing, which ensures accelerated germination of the seeds. Treatment with aloe vera juice (aloe before juice squeezing should be kept for 25 days at a temperature of 3 degrees) for prevention from diseases; if a "black leg" appeared, remove the diseased plant, and pollinate the remaining area with wood ash.

After processing the seeds, we lay them between two wet wipes and, keeping them always in a wet condition, let the seeds come to rest.

For seedlings it is very good to use the ready-made soil "Living Earth", and for planting you can take a less nutritious soil, otherwise the plant will begin to "fatten", forming a green mass to the detriment of fruit formation.

We plant the seeds in the cups. The first shoots should appear in 7-10 days, provided that the seeds were fresh and qualitative. About a month later, it is possible to seedlings in boxes or pots permanently. The capacity for planting should not be more than 4 liters; to the bottom you need to pour drainage material, fill the pot with soil: vegetable garden, humus, ash (1: 1 + handful) or use the purchased soil. The soil in the pot should not reach the top edge by 5-7 cm, for the further padding of soil to the plant. So the earth in a box or pot should be well-washed with dark pink potassium permanganate and after two days the planted plants should be planted, deepening to seven-leaf leaves.

Since we are talking about tomatoes grown in a room, it takes care of the temperature regime. It is necessary to carefully ventilate the room at low temperatures in the air on the street. If the tanks are placed next to the heating devices by the spotters, then it is necessary to protect the plants with a protective screen. Such a screen can be made from plywood or use a film.

Watering is moderate, try not to wet the soil. Feeding with organic fertilizers should be carried out under the root, always in the wet soil. If you planted seeds for seedlings in the first ten days of February, then you can already take off the first fruits at the end of April or the beginning of May. Good harvest!
