Cultivation and planting forget-me-nots

Forget-me-nots are very fond of shaded places with light and loose soil. Reproduction occurs by means of seeds. Seedlings are sown in early May, and landing in open ground - in August or early September. It should be borne in mind that when planting seeds should not be buried deep in the ground, otherwise they will not all be able to germinate. Before planting in the ground, they should be soaked for 2-3 days in water with a weak solution of potassium permanganate. After that, we plant the seeds in small grooves, which will need to be done in slightly moistened soil.

Literally in 6-7 days seedlings must germinate. Once you saw that leaflets appeared on the stems, it means that it's time to plant them in a pot or a wooden box with loose peaty soil. These pots with seedlings should be kept in a cool greenhouse for about two weeks, then in late April or early May can be transferred to the open land. Before landing in the open ground in prepared grooves, you need to pour a small amount of water with a diluted fertilizer, this will accelerate growth and give endurance to the plant.

In order to avoid disease, several simple rules must be observed. It is important to regularly loosen the soil, remove the germinated weeds. Special attention should be paid to watering - these flowers do not need super-strong moisture, but they should not be dried. Once in 2-3 days, spray a small amount of water from a hose or watering can, so that the soil becomes slightly moistened, but not wet. To protect the plant from pests, it is recommended to sprinkle a planted fungicide once a week (about 5 ml per 10 liters of water). It will also be superfluous to add mineral fertilizing to the soil every ten days.

If you follow these recommendations, you can grow a whole plantation of these lovely and delicate flowers. Forget-me-nots are really capable to decorate and revive with their azure blue color any garden and flower bed.
