Code of rules when communicating with the chief

Some managers absolutely do not accept familiarity in communicating with subordinates. Some bosses take exceptionally formal treatment and minimize communication with their subordinates, while others consider themselves to be on par with their employees and communicate like with colleagues. Therefore, every employee must know the code of rules when communicating with the boss, which will help to make a good impression on the head, help to pick up a "key" to him.

When communicating with the boss, remember that even if you are already familiar with the kindergarten, you should not talk to him on "you", especially in the presence of strangers. If he allows himself this, ignore and forgive.

Sometimes you can use ironic servility, it will warm the heart of the boss. If the subordinate is a young woman, she can tolerate the "fragrance" of sexual access in communication. However, remember that real accessibility will not be of use, and sooner or later it will complicate the working relationship, so it is truly wise not to admit it.

If your boss is a woman, you should not show your masculine nature when dealing with her, for example, physique, height, low voice, etc., this is all you need in other situations. Do not say compliments about her appearance. In developed countries it is believed that by assessing the appearance of another person, you show incorrect behavior. This is a kind of uninvited interference in personal affairs or an attempt to act as an expert without proper authority. On the other hand, it will be good if the boss will notice your unobtrusive admiring glance, fleetingly thrown at her. In other words, use non-verbal (wordless) compliments and only in a small amount.

If the boss has allowed himself to be rude to yell at you and you need to endure it, then do not show him the extra importance of his disgusting behavior. For the "rapist" (the victim of violence is your psyche), the most desirable thing is to see the victim's fear, do not give him this pleasure. On the other hand, do not show that you do not care. Try to behave moderately tolerant in such a situation.

The ideal reaction to the bullying of the superior is one that does not contain surprise, fear, aggression, or excuses.

There are standard phrases that are not recommended for use in their vocabulary at the time of communication with their superiors.

Do not say never: "I thought that another person should deal with this issue."

You must try to fulfill the task set by the leadership.

"Nobody said anything to me about this."

This phrase means that you do not see what is happening around you. The question arises whether you are distributing your working time correctly.

"I did not know that you wanted me to do it ..."

This phrase suggests that you can only act when you are reminded of this or when your bosses supervise your work.

"I was very busy ..." or "There was no time ..."

The employee is obliged to perform work within the prescribed time.

"I did not guess to ask ..."

A good worker should be able to model the situation a few steps forward.

"There is still time before the end of the term ..."

This means that the work will be second-rate, as it was done hastily in a short time.

"They said that everything will be done on time ..."

So, the work is not ready, since you did not control the process of its implementation, did not take into account possible problems and did not have time to eliminate them.

Do not neglect the above rules and then your career path will be easy and fast, thanks to properly established communication with your superiors.

In bookstores, you can find enough literature on how to build a relationship between the boss and his subordinates. Choose your choice on the book that is more like you, taking into account your character and qualities of the boss, the company's career strategy, etc. Do not go on the subject of expensive covers and titles of authors. Treat the choice of the desk book just as if you were choosing a personal hairdresser, a friend and the boss.
