How to make a Chinese lantern for the New Year with your own hands

Paper decorations are easy to make and they always create a festive mood. Therefore, arm yourself with everything you need, connect to this occupation of loved ones and get down to business.

How to make a Chinese lantern with your own hands

You will need:

• Tight color cardboard (red)
• Glue
• Scissors
• Template
• Pencil
• Red thread, needle
• Silver paint from can

Manufacture:

1. Print out the template, attach it to your colored cardboard and cut out the details. Do not disconnect them, they should look like a small accordion.
2. Fasten the first and last part to each other, fix it with glue.
3. We connect all the sides, thread the needle and make a hole in the top part of the flashlight, as shown in the picture. We collect the lower part in the same way.
4. From the thread we make a brush for the bottom part of the decoration, at the top the tape remains long so that it can be attached to the ceiling.
5. With silver paint we make patterns. They can be pre-printed and stenciled. Apply them to the paper and spray the paint. Let's dry, and start decorating the room.

Baby Chinese paper lanterns

These knickknacks can easily be made by kids to decorate a room or a Christmas tree. To do this you will need:

• Colored paper
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Ruler
• Glue
• Color markers, glitters, ribbons

Manufacture:

1. From the edge of the sheet, cut a strip of paper 2-2.5 cm wide and set aside. It will be a pen for a flashlight.
2. Fold the rest of the paper in half. From the outer edge, retreat 4 cm and draw a strip. Up to this line we will cut the flashlight.
3. Mark the lines along the entire length of the paper: start from the point where it bends and stop near the marked strip.
4. Open the paper and check your lines. If traces of a pencil are visible, it is better to erase them.
5. Collect the edges together and fasten them with glue or staples. Attach the handle we cut out first.
6. Do the rest of the same scheme. Decorate the lanterns with colored glitter and tinsel. You can cut out 12 sacred animals from cardboard and attach them to the flashlight using threads. And instead of colored paper, you can use a toilet tube.

Celestial Chinese Flashlight

You need:

• Cigarette or rice paper - 4 sheets
• Straws for drinks - 4 pcs.
• Copper wire
• Candle
• Glue

Manufacture:

1. Fold pieces of tissue paper and cut as shown in the picture.
2. The edges must be properly glued so that hot air does not pass through them.
3. Straw the straws so that a square is obtained. Glue it to the bottom of the structure.
4. Wrap the wire around the candle and attach it to the straws on four sides. Ignite the wick and let the candle glow a little.
