It's not for nothing that this citrus is due to the ancient Chinese nobility - mandarins, whose representatives could afford these bright, orange fruits. Fragrant, sweet, with a rich orange color, mandarin jam can serve not only as a dessert for tea. It fits perfectly, as an interlayer to cakes and a filling for pies and patties.
Ingredients:- Mandarins 1000g
- Lemon 1 pc.
- Sugar 400g
- Step 1 For the preparation of jam from mandarin we will need: tangerines, lemon and sugar.
- Step 2 Mandarins should be thoroughly washed and peeled off.
- Step 3 Then remove very carefully all the bones in each lobule of mandarin. Peel the lemon, also remove the bones and cut into small pieces. You can leave the lemon peel, but it will give a little bitterness.
- Step 4 Chop the mandarins and lemon with a blender or food processor.
- Step 5 Then pour sugar. The amount it depends on the sweetness of Mandarin. I had very sweet, so I put sugar even less than in the ratio 1: 2. Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally 30-35 minutes before thickening.
- Step 6 Brew for a long time until the spoon in it is not necessary. Cooled jam quickly thickens.
