Benefit and harm of ghee

Hindus believe that melted butter is almost "liquid gold." Indeed, it is a very useful product that has a beneficial effect on the human body. Many years ago, Russian cuisine also used ghee in its recipes, but now this, unfortunately, was forgotten, so there are very few recipes that would help to make it. But there are many sources that contain descriptions of the properties of such oil, according to the canons of Ayurveda, that is, the Hindu science of the conduct of a healthy lifestyle. Today we will talk about such a topic as the benefits and harm of melted butter.

Many of our compatriots are skeptical of the Hindu beliefs about the benefits of this product, they say, if everything is so simple, then why do not we know anything about it? Moreover, in our country, milk products have always been quite popular, but we do not use oil as a medicine.

Nevertheless, ghee and the truth has a curative effect, but the peculiarities of nutrition in our country and in eastern countries, for example, India, are very different, that is why the properties of butter are not as widely used here as there. Our people are accustomed to eating foods that contain a lot of protein, for example, fish, meat, poultry, and the dishes are generously flavored with fats. But the Indians prefer vegetable food, but it is just perfectly combined with "gi" or "ghee", that is, melted butter.

We make ghee at home.

Of course, it is best to make ghee at home, but often there is neither the strength nor the time. When choosing the oil in stores it is worth giving preference to well-known and proven manufacturers.

Quality melted butter should not have foreign smell and taste. It should have a taste and aroma of melted milk fat. This oil should have a grainy consistency, but at the same time it should be soft. If the butter is melt, it will turn out to be transparent, the color will be uniform, there should not be any precipitation either.

The recipe for making ghee is very, very different. There are many recipes that advise to melt the butter in the bowl, while you need to collect the foam and remove foreign particles, until all the water disappears, then drain the oil. It is possible and follow these recipes, at least, it will be much better than using oil with liquid and proteins. The result should be a transparent consistency oil. What will be cooked on it, it will be much more delicious, than it turns out usually.

You can fry in such oil, for example, mushrooms, then top them and pour them, and then put in a cold place. So they can stand a few weeks and stay fresh. On melted butter it is possible and fry. It does not foam, and smoke does not come from it.

Only this oil does not have healing properties, which Ayurveda says. The present "Gee", which is used for the treatment of diseases and prevention, is prepared quite differently. Recipes, although different from the above, but still simple and not at all time consuming.

Formulation of the preparation "Guy".

The present "Guy" must be prepared from butter obtained at home. If there is none, then you can buy it, but after having studied the composition. The real oil in a cold place becomes quite hard. In order to cook "Guy", it is necessary to bring the water to a boil in a large saucepan, place a smaller vessel in it so that the bottom is immersed in water, but does not touch the bottom of the first pan. In a smaller container, oil is put on, it first melts, then a foam appears on it, which must be removed. At the same time, a sediment will form on the bottom, which need not be touched.

From 1 kilogram of good butter butter hours in five, so you get an excellent "Guy". It will be transparent, with an amber-yellow or golden hue. When through ghee will be clearly visible at the bottom of the sediment, the vessel can be removed from the water bath and drained into a vessel ready "Guy", making sure that the sediment does not fall into it. The resulting oil can then be filtered, after which there will no longer be any foreign impurities. The thickened "gi" can be whitish with a yellow tinge.

This way of oil re-heating releases it from water, milk proteins and other impurities. When making it is not necessary to use aluminum dishes, better enameled or glass.

The use of ointment oil.

A qualitative, correct "gi" can be stored for several years, with the passage of time, the healing properties only increase. But we are unlikely to have to store it for many years, it is likely to be used very quickly, because if they replace the usual oil, it will only benefit health.

According to Ayurveda, ghee is better absorbed than a simple oil, it will not increase cholesterol, improve digestion and strengthen immune forces, improve the condition of all tissues and will have a positive effect on brain activity, perception.

Often in the autumn, the nasal mucosa dries up, in this case it is smeared with melted butter to protect against infections and colds.

"Guy" is able to penetrate the skin pores, it is perfectly absorbed. Penetrating into the skin, the oil dissolves and removes salt, slag, so after massage with "gi" the skin becomes tender and smooth.

Harm to the oil.

Ghee can cause harm to people suffering from gastrointestinal diseases. Also, it is contraindicated for people with excess weight problems, because it contains a huge amount of cholesterol. Summarizing all of the above, I want to note that it is better to use burnt oil for cooking, and not to use it in its pure form.

Ghee: treatment.

In the treatment with the help of "Gee" oil there are several nuances. If you have weak immunity, then it should be consumed, mainly in the morning with nuts, honey, dried fruits, with spices, for example with cardamom, saffron, fennel. You can use it with cream, sour cream, fermented biscuit, but in addition to butter and products listed above, there is nothing to eat in the morning.

With digestive disorders, inflammatory processes apply a therapeutic mixture of "Guy" (two-thirds) and medicinal herbs (one-third). The mixture smears the affected areas or holds some time in the mouth.

You can also cure atherosclerosis, migraine and other ailments. Only adherents of the Vedas teach that only vegetarians will benefit from such treatment. Eggs, fish, and meat they consider products of "violence". That is why, probably, in our country, as, indeed, in other countries, in particular, in the West, the treatment of diseases with the help of melted butter "Guy" is not widespread.
