Refusal of sugar and salt

The use of sugar and salt is unequivocally, a bad habit. Most of the population does not represent its existence without these foods. To sugar and salt, we get used to over the years, but, in fact, small children do without them. In this publication, I would like to understand how great the damage caused by these products is, and whether it is possible to completely abandon sugar and salt.

"The sweet death".

All variety of sugar-containing products can be divided into several types. This is primarily liquid sugar, white crystalline and brown brown. In addition to these groups, there are species that do not sell in stores, but they are used in the food industry. Let's take a closer look at those that we meet every day.

Liquid sugar.

Such a product is represented by a solution of white sugar and is often used as a crystalline solution. If desired, liquid sugar with flavor, for example, lemon balm, is added to the products in order to obtain the appropriate odor from the finished treats.

Sugar is crystalline.

Such sugar is met every day. This is the usual granulated sugar that is available in any family, and consists of white crystals. Depending on the special additives and crystal sizes, crystalline sugar can be of several types:

Brown (unpeeled) sugar.

Such a product can be called unusual or unique. After all, in it sugar crystals are covered with treacle (molasses) with natural color and aroma. It is a mixture of molasses with white sugar. There are a lot of mixing options for these components, and accordingly there is a great variety of unrefined sugars - these are both darker and lighter with slightly expressed flavors.

What is the harm of sugar?

According to the World Health Organization, the annual consumption of sugar at 38 kilograms per person is the norm for each of us. But scientists and nutritionists from Russia limit this figure to 30 kg of sugar per person.

It's no secret that a significant intake of sweet foods contributes to overall weight gain, as well as obesity and diabetes. In addition, the risk of heart disease increases, immunity weakens, mouth diseases: gums and teeth.

Refusal of sugar.

According to scientists, if you live without using sugar for at least 20 days, then you will get out of it and be able to calmly treat the sweet foods. This, in turn, will lead to the fact that the well-being will improve and gradually lose weight, bringing comfort and joy into your life.

For many of us, it is very hard and simply unthinkable to wake up unsweetened tea or coffee. Our brain constantly asks to replace the missing sugar, and there is a need to calm it. And this can be done by replacing sweets with natural sweet foods or vegetables with a high sugar content. These substitutes are rich in carbohydrates, but still worthy of competing with sugars.

The second in line is honey - a wonderful natural product that provides invaluable help in the treatment of a large number of diseases.

The third group of sweeteners are sweeteners and various food additives. This is a group of low-calorie foods, which are several times sweeter than the sugar we are accustomed to. Not only in European countries, but also in Russia, the following sweeteners are very popular: aspartame, saccharin, sodium cyclamate and acesulfame. Scientists and physicians still refer to these substances in different ways. Therefore, in order to avoid harm to health, it is recommended to apply them under control, at a certain rate, which is indicated on the package. A less concentrated product can be called a product of natural origin, for example, from a sweet Stevia plant.

"White death".

In nature, you can find several types of salt. Here are some of them:

Canteen, culinary, or coarse salt.

The purified salt and not containing impurities, is characterized as table salt.

Sea salt.

It is obtained by the method of evaporation of water taken from the sea. It is rich in microelements and minerals.

Dietary salt.

Additionally contains in its composition potassium and magnesium - substances necessary for the perfect functioning of the heart and the whole circulatory system as a whole. The content of sodium ions is reduced. This salt is recommended by specialists for people suffering from osteochondrosis.

Iodized salt.

It differs in the content of potassium iodate. It is useful to those people who do not have iodine, or who have problems with the thyroid gland.

What is the harm of salt?

In the body of an adult and a child, salt is needed to regulate the work of the stomach by maintaining the water-salt balance and the full functioning of other systems. All is well in moderation, and therefore excessively consumed salt has a negative effect on a person. It manifests itself in different ways: "vision" can fall, "gain" excess weight, stab in the heart or kidneys, and such problems arise because of the fluid retention in our body. There is a rather serious question: what to do if salt is so harmful, but in small quantities it is still necessary? How to replace salt?

Refusal of salt.

It turns out that it is quite easy to get out of the use of salt in large volumes. Here are a number of useful tips for reducing the consumption of salty foods.

The rate of salt intake in places with a predominantly colder climate is lower than in hot countries, this is the result of less sweating. For comparison, the average daily salt norm for an adult living in a country with a cold climate is three to five grams, and with a warm climate - four times that.

An interesting and sad fact is that a one-time intake of salt in the amount of three grams per kilogram of body weight can lead to a lethal outcome.

There is a way to limit the use of salt. You need to make up your diet from foods that do not need to be salted, and live like that for a couple of weeks. Reducing the consumption of salt in this way, you will become more clearly distinguish between the pleasant aromas of cooked dishes. Sea kale is not only a source of vitamins, but an excellent substitute for salt. In addition, you can prepare dishes with the addition of spicy aromatic herbs or sour fruit varieties. They will serve onions, garlic, horseradish, dill, parsley, radish and many juices.
