Poppy roll with cherry The assortment of sweet baked goods is very diverse, but what can be more delicious is aromatic, with a golden crust of baking cooked on a yeast dough. With jam, jam, apples, plums; to tea, coffee, milk or just like that. Everyone loves this batch! Today I have a roll with cherries and poppy seeds, a kind of tandem: two in one, in which the cherry sour emphasizes the taste of the sweet poppy.
Ingredients:- Milk 250 ml
- Wheat Flour 500 g
- Butter 100 g
- Eggs chicken 2 pcs.
- Sugar vanilla 10 g
- Salt 1 tsp.
- Sugar 5 tbsp. l.
- Yeast dry 10 g
- Eggs chicken 1 pc.
- Cherry frozen 200 g
- Poppy 100 g
- Potato starch 1 tbsp. l.
- Step 1 To prepare the dough for the roll you need: milk, eggs, dry yeast, sugar, vanilla sugar, salt, butter and flour.
- Step 2 For the filling, you need cherry and poppy seeds. Cherries can be fresh or frozen, most importantly - without pits.
- Step 3 In warm milk pour dry yeast and a couple tablespoons of sugar. Leave it for 10 minutes.
- Step 4 When the yeast is almost dissolved in the milk, put the remaining sugar and salt.
- Step 5 Beat 2 eggs lightly. We combine with milk, yeast and sugar.
- Step 6 In a separate bowl we sift the flour. This is necessary in order to enrich the flour with oxygen and to remove excess impurities.
- Step 7 In the flour gradually pour out the liquid mixture. Then, in small portions, add soft butter. In the end, put vanilla sugar. Knead a soft, elastic dough. As for the amount of flour, it can be more or less. It all depends on the quality of the flour itself. It is not necessary to heavily "hammer" with flour. In the process of cutting, the flour is still poured. We put the dough in a pot or bowl, cover it with a clean towel and put it in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours.
- Step 8 The dough has risen and increased in size by 2 times. Now it's ready to be cut.
- Step 9 Of the ingredients given in the recipe, you get 2 rolls. The dough is divided into approximately 4 parts. Lightly sprinkle the table with flour and roll out one piece.
- Step 10 Roll out the dough layer with starch and spread the cherry on it. Starch will absorb cherry juice and it will not flow out of the roll when baking.
- Step 11 Fold the roll with cherry.
- Step 12 Roll one more part of the test and spread the poppy filling. Poppy needs to be poured with a small amount of water and boil for about 10 minutes. Then drain the water, add sugar to taste and crush it in a mortar. If there is no mortar, then the usual coffee grinder will do. Our task is to grind the poppy seeds with sugar.
- Step 13 Fold the roll with poppy seeds. Obtained 2 of these rolls.
- Step 14 We twist these rolls into such a braid.
- Step 15 Lubricate the baking dish and place the roll. Let him stand for 20-25 minutes at room temperature, so that he rose slightly.
- Step 16 Lubricate the egg yolk and put in the oven heated to 175-180 ° C for 40 minutes. The baking time depends on the oven.
