Strong woman, weak man

It is believed that the concepts of "weak" and "strong" sex came up with men in order to assert their superiority over women.
To our universal female happiness, the issue of sexual equality was decided by ancestors. And now, if you feel uncomfortable within the canons of classical femininity, you can choose that pattern of behavior that will better match your character - this is your personal choice, modern society does not mind. But when the French writer Georges Sand wore a men's suit, it looked like a real challenge and a provocation!
XX century passed for women under the banner of emancipation. After all, 150 years ago, the possibility of self-fulfillment consisted exclusively for us in a successful marriage and reproduction of offspring. Now this is even scary to imagine. After all, our contemporaries feel themselves in a world that once belonged exclusively to men, is absolutely free. We have all the possibilities to operate a car, airplane, bank, country. There would be a desire. Therefore, a long war for the equality of the sexes can be considered won. Men from the last forces try to maintain the viability of the myth of a "weak" and "strong" field. To this modern woman responds not in word, but in deed.

Women's Boxing
Strangely enough, it was the participation of women in professional boxing matches that became one of the sharp points of sexual conflict. Men relatively painlessly admitted women into all spheres of social and political relations. But when it came to boxing, here the "strong sex" started, discussions began about the fact that a woman loses sexuality, becomes vulgar, rough and unattractive in her desire to become like a man and, most importantly, a woman's body is not suitable for sparring. In many countries of the world, women's boxing fights have even been banned. But the siege of this miraculously surviving scrap of primordially male territory persisted. By and large, women could not be banned by women, but they were not allowed into professional sports. Until recently, boxing was the only sport in which women were not represented at the Olympic Games.
And only this year the International Olympic Committee decided to include women's boxing in the 2012 Olympics in London. This war for the right to participate in the Olympics lasted more than a hundred years. During this time, as a result of numerous studies, the issue of the mismatch of the female body to this sport has long been removed - men and women have the same risk of injury.

Defend yourself
Undoubtedly, in our country the struggle of women with patriarchal foundations was not as acute as in the countries of the West. And, nevertheless, women practicing sports associated with aggression and force often face a misunderstanding in society.
It's good that it ends well, but, unfortunately, it does not always happen. So, for example, for Masha K. (30 years), the hobby for kickboxing ended in parting with a young man. "We met Serezha on a summer vacation in a student camp. We had much in common, we listened to the same music, loved the same films. In addition, it turned out that we are from one city. When they returned from the camp, they began to meet. Life went its own way: institute, house, sports section. I was training only three times a week, but Sergei seemed too much. He wanted me to spend more time at home, languidly sighing at the window in anticipation of his beloved. At first he was silent, but gradually began to hint that, they say, it would be nice to quit with the sport. So imperceptibly it came to an ultimatum: either I, or kickboxing. Despite my love for Sergei, I knew that if I ceded him now, it would last a lifetime. I could not agree to the role of a victim, and I chose sport. Sincere wounds have healed, and I married a man who accepts me as I am. "

Graceful Torero
Modern science has proved: short-term emissions of adrenaline prevent serious military conflicts. The ardent Spaniards realized this long ago at the level of intuition. The bloody Spanish-Portuguese tradition is attacked year after year by "green", pacifists, humanists and other activists of peaceful coexistence of man and nature. But the hot and proud inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula, despite everything, cherish and cherish their traditions. It is hardly possible to put them in a reproach, because every year thousands and thousands of addicted adrenaline addicts come to Spain from all over the world. It is noteworthy that this extreme entertainment has long been available to both sexes. Bans on women's bullfights were imposed only in the XX century. Despite the fact that today there are no special restrictions on the participation of women in bullfighting, there are not so many female matadors. With arguments that the corrida is a bloody relic of the past, it's hard not to agree. But, as you know, each medal has two sides. Here is how our countrywoman Olga M describes her impressions: "My husband dragged me to the corridor during our holiday in Portugal. At first I was skeptical about the spectacle - I do not like cruelty in any form. But all my prejudice evaporated when I saw that the matador was a woman. I thought that if she was not afraid to be there, in the arena, one on one with a bull, then I here, on the podium, have nothing to fear at all. She was gorgeous! And frankly, after all that I saw, I overestimated a lot for myself. And now, in moments of weakness, when it seems that "I can not," "I'm tired," "I'm weak," I always remember that woman in the arena, and I'm ashamed of my behavior. "
The most famous popularizer of bullfighting in the world literature was Ernest Hemingway. And his legendary girlfriend Conchita Cintron was a female matador. Unfortunately, she could not pass the traditional rite of initiation, since the Franco regime in general forbade women to take part in the bullfight.

Passion for powerlifting, or, more simply, sports lifting of weights, has for the Ukrainian woman natural historical precursors. And, nevertheless, I have repeatedly witnessed how the look of a woman with a bar caused an ironic reaction from the "stronger sex". It is remarkable that the look of a woman carrying two heavy bags with a weekly supply of food is taken for granted. Despite the ridicule, or rather, contrary to them, the number of women in gyms has increased over the past 10 years. Not the last role in the popularization of women's powerlifting was played by the multiple champion of various championships of international importance Victoria Posmitnaya. The engineer-geophysicist by education, the mother of two sons and just a beautiful woman, with her example Victoria showed how you can be feminine and athletic at the same time. She is the only woman in Ukraine who took part in the tournament "The Hero of the Year" on a par with men, which made history as the most powerful woman in Ukraine, winning many of them. Thanks to her passion, Posmitnaya became not only a famous sportsman, but also a star of glossy magazines, paving the way for fashion for a new type of femininity - strong, energetic, resolute and independent.

Who are the Amazons?
Not everyone knows, but the place of the alleged location of the militant state of the Amazons is considered to be the Black Sea coast, that is, mainly the territory of modern Ukraine. Most of the life of the Amazons was carried on horseback. Their main occupation was war. There is a legend that even at a young age female warriors burned their right breasts in order to more conveniently string the bowstring.
The Amazons did not tolerate themselves. To reproduce the offspring, they were in touch with men from neighboring tribes. If a boy was born, he was left to his father. The girls were taken away with them and trained in military affairs.
