What to dream about: 9 ways to find your passion

Dreams are able to inspire. If we add passion to our dreams, we will get an inspiring cocktail for achieving any grandiose goal. And what if you do not even know what to dream about? If you feel that you are created for something more, be sure to get acquainted with the exercises of Barbara Cher from the new book "What to dream about." They will make your heart sing and move to supercosmic speed to translate your dreams into reality. Exercises about childhood dreams, first steps, skill and radical improvements. So, in the way!

1. Remember the 3 main childhood dreams

A small child, you were a great researcher. They wanted to touch, assemble and disassemble what they could reach. And what happened to you? What happened to the enthusiasm? You hid it to save. Let's remember what you dreamed about, and we will give you back your enthusiasm.

List all that you liked in childhood. Make a list. Erase everything except three things. Reduce the list until it hurts, and only then will you understand what the most necessary elements of your past life are. These are your cornerstones on which to build the future.

2. Create Lost Dreams Lost & Found

Take a box, for example a shoe, and put it on the floor next to the desk. Call it the "lost dreams" Lost and Found. "Write down all the classes on some small pieces of paper that you are not supposed to reach if you commit yourself to one goal. you want to contact sooner or later, write down all fleeting desires, work with animals, go to Hawaii, learn how to mold clay buddhas, etc.

Perhaps, the day will come when you will be free, you will want to remember these dreams - and you can not. But if you keep them in a box, they will wait for you there. All activities that continue from childhood or are repeated in fantasies - this is your passion.

3. Be ace

Sit down and put the watch in front of you. And now for thirty seconds turn into a master of aerobatics and tell about it so exciting that anyone wanted to be in your place. "I am a pilot. Enjoying freedom in the sky - fine. Most of all I like to soar above the mountains and follow the riverbeds, flying between the rock walls. I love the roar of the motor and the feeling of power. "

Do you understand? Try it yourself and start with the pilot-ace - purely for the sake of pleasure. Then repeat again and again, but each time is another option. Be a prima ballerina at the Bolshoi Theater, an Antarctic researcher, a photo hunter for cheetahs. Think about anything, and then become an active propagandist of this. If possible, gather friends and try together. We promise that you will like it.

4. Imagine that you are infinitely brave and on the wave of luck

Let's imagine two things. First, that you are very brave and you are all on the shoulder. And secondly, imagine that success is guaranteed to you and luck does not threaten you. Now tell me what exactly you are doing - write down on the sheet or on the recorder at least 20 answers to the question "What would you do if you were brave and knew exactly what you would achieve?"

5. Find the biographies of famous people

Biographies of people who were engaged in the same than you. And the biographies of people who did absolutely not what you are. Among Russian and foreign personalities, contemporaries and historical personalities.

Many people talked about their lives so that it will help you to learn how to live.

6. Think up your perfect day

Everyone has heard about the "Ideal Day" exercise. Live once again your ideal day, but this time pay attention to three points.

First, imagine your favorite moment in your dream. What exactly should happen? What is the key stage in your fantasy?

Second, think about how you will relax and rest in your ideal life?

Third, ask yourself questions:

  1. In your fantasy, dreams come true only after the intervention of external forces?
  2. In the end, is salvation or reward waiting for you, which only special people get?
  3. In this fantasy you "find" or "open"?
  4. And the most revealing question: is your life meaningless without such a happy ending?

7. Fill in all your talents

If you were ten people, how would each of you have disposed of your life? Write down what you do in each of these lives. Want more than ten? You are welcome. Write as much as you want! The list could look like this: a poet, a musician, a successful entrepreneur, a Sinologist, a chef in a haute cuisine restaurant, a traveler, a gardener, husband and father, a journalist, a talk show host.

You have a list in your hands, in front of you is your future. To find a way to live each of these lives, answer the questions:

Do not think about how to fit into this world - think about how to arrange a life to fit into it your numerous talents.

8. Make a 100-year plan

Divide the sheet into 4 columns:

  1. Age (5, 10, 15 and so on, up to 100 years).
  2. Main event.
  3. What have I learned.
  4. The most amazing thing I've seen.

Before your current age, these columns need to be filled with actual important events - at the age of seven they went to school, at twenty moved to Moscow, married at 25, etc. Continue to the present, and then move on - plan the future: in 50 years you went to Tibet, at 65 again married. Make your 100-year plan! Release the imagination to freedom! After completing the exercise, write down what this imaginary way in a hundred years taught you. It is possible that you will discover the meaning of life.

9. Actively move to the dream within an hour

A small step from reasoning to reality can bring surprising relief. Within the next hour, actively engage in the movement toward your goal. Set a timer for an hour and devote yourself to any of the goals or dreams that you have had after you have done the previous 8 exercises. Stop in an hour. Or do not stop. Drop all fears and all "ifs." Stop planning! Call, agree, promise, step outside the threshold, do it. Right now.

By the way, if you do not feel fear or doubt for a certain time, but you experience enthusiasm and joy, then you are ready to go out into the world and realize your wonderful scenario.

Life is too short to live without a goal. Life is too boring to live without passion. Security is riskier than you think. In the depths of your soul, you dream of adventure. You are completely free to choose a dream. What do you want to do with your life? What should you do with it?

Whatever you decide, inspiration and tailwind to you!
