When do children start talking?

One of the main differences between a person and other representatives of the animal world is the ability to speak. By the degree of development of speech, one can even judge the development of the human brain as a whole. Therefore, many parents are interested in when the child should start talking. That is, when the sounds and combinations spoken by a child can already be considered a speech. A newborn baby, when he is hungry, when he is not comfortable or has something hurts, starts screaming, but this is not a speech. After all, this behavior is typical, for example, and the dog, if it does not feed or close in an unfamiliar room.

So what is the normal age of children, when you can talk about the beginning of speech activity? Below are the average norms used by children's specialists to assess the child's verbal ability.

At the end of seven months, the baby begins to articulate the syllables: yes, yes, yes, pa-pa-pa, etc. When the child turns a year, he begins to pronounce the first small words. As a rule, these words consist of one syllable. Six months later, parents can hear suggestions from their child that will consist of two or three simple words. Up to three years of life there is an improvement in the speech of the child, and by the age of three, as a rule, a child can pronounce simple phrases. In four years the baby can already build complex offers.

However, there are often "silent people" who do not want to start speaking at three years, although these guys do not have any problems with either the intellect, or with the voice, or with the hearing aid. Why does this happen? What are the causes that prevent the pronunciation of words? Can the reason in parents who understand the child with a half-word?

Man is a social being. The learning process takes place through imitation. Therefore, the baby just needs to constantly hear the speech and be involved in this process. This is a well-known fact. However, it happens that even with constant dialogue with the baby, the child stubbornly remains silent and does not even try to say any words. Many may be surprised, but this happens because the kid just does not know how to do it: a signal does not come from his brain to his speech machine. The child will begin to speak only when the motor speech area begins to form in his head. The conclusion suggests itself: in order for the baby to speak, it is necessary to develop this area. But how to do that?

If you study in detail the parts of the brain, you can see that the area of interest is located next to the site that provides the movement of a person. In fact, the area of interest is part of this site. Therefore, speech ability depends on how well developed the motor skills of the baby.

Scientists conducted studies in which it was found that there is a relationship between the speed of speech and motor activity of children, more precisely, the development of fingers and hands.

In five months, the baby begins to oppose the thumb to the rest. The object he captures from now on, not with the palm of his hand, but with his fingers. After a lapse of two months, the crumb begins to pronounce the first syllables. By eight or nine months, the child begins to take objects with the help of two fingers, and by the year he can already pronounce the first words. The first years of a person's life are characterized precisely by such a regularity: improvement by fingers, then progress in speech ability. And it's never the other way around.

What should parents do that the child does not talk at all or started to do it late? The answer suggests itself - it is necessary to develop small motor skills of the baby. For this purpose it is necessary to do massage of fingers, to be engaged in molding from plasticine, to play finger games, to draw, to sort the groats, to make beads, to lace up shoes. You can teach the child to show his fingers how old he is.

There is a test that allows you to accurately determine whether the child is talking or not. The test consists in the following: the expert should ask the kid to show him one by one, two, and then three fingers (repeating after him). If the child's movements are clear and confident, then the child is exactly speaking.
