Ingredients Rinse mussels thoroughly. Make sure that they are all tightly closed. Melt the oil in a saucepan and add the pepper, shallots, bay leaves, caraway seeds, salt and pepper. Pour the beer and bring to a boil. Put mussels in boiling beer and cook for 3.5 minutes. Remove the mussels from the broth, discarding those that are not open. Add the cream and mustard to the broth. Serve mussels with a broth and crusty bread. Bon Appetit!
