Myths about products

Dietology, unfortunately, is far from exact sciences: there is no way to reduce weight, which would help everyone - there will always be exceptions to the rules. Therefore, in each case, you need to make personal recommendations that take into account the needs and inclinations of a particular person.

Negative caloric value

A list of such "magic" products almost always opens up celery. Next come cabbage, lettuce, radish, zucchini, pumpkin, turnips, rutabaga, eggplant, rhubarb, asparagus, turnips, ginger, leek, garlic. But look through any calorie table and you will see that all these products have energy value. What is the basis of the statement that they are not afraid of a figure?

If the negative caloric content is a myth, then the zero calorie exists in fact

No calories in water, black and green tea, coffee (without milk and sugar). Zero calories can be in the broth if it is properly cooked. Take the chicken breast (turkey), lean meat (beef for baking) or fish and cook the broth. Then take the meat or fish, and pour the broth into the cold. After a few hours, remove the frozen fat and strain. Vkustakomu broth is given to extractives released during cooking, and there are almost no sources of calories for fatty proteins.

But do not rush to sit on the broth diet: the meat of the broth stimulates the digestive system, increasing appetite. Strong broths irritate the nervous system, which can lead to insomnia. They are contraindicated in diseases of the kidneys, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, stomach and duodenum.

It would seem that the ideal set of products for weight loss is found. In fact, not every organism can survive a "silage" diet, because all these foods will have to be eaten only in raw form. And they should be the basis of the diet: just adding celery to the usual food, miracle to get. A diet of products with a negative calorie content is good only for ardent vegetable lovers and only for a short time - one to two weeks.

Bread harms the figure

Most of the losing weight first of all give up bread. There is no reason, the product is really high in calories, and in black bread there is still a salt that retains water in the body. On the other hand, bread is rich in vitamins of group B, phosphorus, magnesium and iron. This is one of the basic everyday food products, which has good satiating ability and low tolerance. Therefore, today refusal of bread - even in diets for weight reduction by dietitians is not welcome. However, this product is recommended to limit 100-150 g per day and give preference to cereal species and varieties with bran.

Cucumbers and tomatoes

But this is just not a myth! There are some vegetables - and cucumbers are considered the leader among them, which contain a special enzyme - ascorbinase, which destroys vitamin C. If you make a salad of cucumbers and tomatoes, cucumber cabbage, cucumbers and bell peppers, cucumbers and greens, the content of vitamin C in this dish is sharply reduced. But nutritionists learned about this only in the late XX century. And long before that, in the kitchens of most countries in the world, salads and other foods, including cucumbers and other vegetables, existed. And nothing, no mass epidemic of scurvy (a disease associated with ascorbic deficiency). So consider this information, but treat it without fanaticism.

Potatoes are useful

Starchy, which means it dramatically increases the level of sugar, so it's no good for it! The same applies to grapes, bananas, dried apricots and rice: "cores" and hypertensive patients are useful, and obese people are contraindicated. With cardiovascular diseases complicated by completeness, the above products will have to be abandoned.

Dried fruits are better than sweets

On the one hand, in dried apricots, prunes, dried berries (cherry, strawberry), there are many more useful substances: fiber, potassium, magnesium. Fructose from dried fruits is absorbed more slowly than glucose from confectionery products. But if you compare the calorie content of dried fruits and chocolates, it turns out that in the first case it is not much less.

From macaroni are not thickened

In Italy, the percentage of people with overweight is actually lower than in other European countries. But this is due not so much to the quality of macaroni as to the culture and traditions of nutrition. Razionian Italians received the name of the Mediterranean (many are losing weight it is known as the Mediterranean diet), and it is now considered one of the healthiest. In this country, they eat macaroni from hard wheat varieties with the addition of fiber. They, of course, are better than usual, but they are not a miracle product that helps to maintain weight. People who are overweight, wanting to add paste to the diet, you need to choose them - not forgetting that even the best varieties of pasta have an energy value of about 350 kcal, that is, they are not considered low-calorie. Therefore, to include pasta in your menu is desirable not more often than one 10-14 days, and they should be cooked in the same way as is customary in Italy: slightly unaddressed, supplementing with fresh or flavored vegetables and herbs, and not meat with sporadic or huge portions of cheese.

Unrefined oil is the most useful

Nutritionists often talk about the benefits of unrefined sunflower oil, and on sale is mostly refined - why? In theory, unrefined oil is indeed more useful, since it preserves polyunsaturated fatty acids, which during processing are destroyed. But alas, the sunflower fields are most often located along the trails, soaking up the exhausts. Here you have to refine oil, eliminating harmful impurities. By the way, the oils obtained from different plants - sunflower, olives, corn, flax, - have a different composition of fatty acids, so they do not replace, but complement each other. When preparing dishes, it is desirable to use a different vegetable oil: alternate them or mix.

Diet with a low glycemic index is effective

Among the slimming is the popular food system, in which products with a high glycemic index (GI) are excluded. Initially, the GI of products was determined under the experimental conditions: the subjects used a specific product, then they measured the level of sugar and insulin and, based on the results, assigned this or that GI to the product. However, subsequently it turned out that the product index can vary: for example, a raw carrot has a low GI, but it grows out to be stewed or stewed. Fruit juices, drunk before meals, increase the level of glucose more than those drunk after eating, especially after dishes containing fresh vegetables. Finally, GI does not always reflect the calorie content of foods: fatty meat or fish have a low GI at high caloric value. Effectiveness of the diet is due mainly to the psychological factor: ladies begin to take a closer look at nutrition (eat every three to four hours in small quantities), refuse sweets and semi-finished products in favor of complex carbohydrates - vegetables, cereals, legumes.
