1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add the chilled butter to chunks and mix until the dough looks like large crumbs. You can do this by hand or a dough cutter. 2. Add 1/2 cup buttermilk, finely grated orange peel, orange juice, egg yolk and poppy. Mix all ingredients with a fork. 3. Put the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead several times. 5. Lay the triangles of dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lubricate the top with 2 tablespoons buttermilk and sprinkle with confectionery sugar. 6. Bake buns until pale golden, about 15 to 17 minutes. 7. Give the buns cool to serve with apricot jam and butter.
