Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Mix the sugar, cayenne pepper and a teaspoon of salt in a small bowl. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add onion and fry, stirring, until light golden color, about 12 minutes. Add 1/3 of the fig and fry until soft, about 5 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar mixture and fry, stirring, about 10 minutes.
