Socio-psychological health of low-income families

The socio-psychological health of low-income families occupies an important position among the polls, which are asked not only by social workers, but also by ordinary people. Even if we do not go deep into such sciences as sociology and psychology, we can say with certainty that not only the social condition, but also the mentality of low-income people differs from those who have an average or high level of earnings. The problem of studying the psychological and social health of low-income families is very relevant today, as the state increasingly faces financial difficulties. What can affect so many people's material status? Progressive inflation, unemployment, insufficient earnings and as a result, a material crisis that spreads across the country, exposing more and more people to financial problems. Modern families face many problems of a material nature, and later, psychological and social.

What does the socio-psychological health of low-income families depend on? What is its status, peculiarities, what is the difference between low-income families, and how does the lack of material resources affect a person and his family? In order to answer these questions, a lot of testing and research was conducted, different psychological portraits of representatives of such a family were considered. Now we have many facts, data, theories and statistics, we can confidently compile portraits of such families, learn their features.

First, let's look at the causes of unhappiness in families. It can comprehend them as suddenly, due to some personal reasons, unforeseen situations, or to arise consistently, which is more likely. Material security depends on the payment of some type of work, which the individual is engaged in, his personal abilities in building a career, the ability to add his goals, focus on them and make progress. The way a person moves up the career ladder depends also on his prioritization, the influence of the society and the environment in which an individual is. We ourselves can imagine and draw some parallels, to comprehend what was said above: a person is undoubtedly influenced by his friends, colleagues and, above all, by his family, his parents. If they were not able-bodied and prioritized to the side of long, honest, low-paid work, then there is a very high probability that the child acquires the same values, and his further life and career will be progressed "according to the plan" of his parents.

Considering social reasons, it is also important to note that the material status is very dependent on the situation in the country, its material level, the opportunities it gives its citizens.

The unemployment rate is also considered important. No wonder young students, choosing the future profession, first of all, are guided by a guarantee against unemployment. All this is a consequence of the country's fear and economic state, because there is reason to believe that unemployment in our country is going to be rejuvenated.

The poverty line is the poverty line. If the income is below it, the family is considered to be poor. The cost of living includes the cost of the basic elements of nutrition, important for maintaining health, as well as the cost of utilities and fees. From this we see that poor families are constantly guided by the satisfaction of their basic needs, in their search for how to feed their families, to educate their children, to buy at least some clothes, to pay for light, water and gas ... This raises many problems and personal character.

First, an individual from a low-income family separates himself from the rest of society, the world around him. All this is in comparison with the concerns of the poor and well-off individual, their external face. Members of a low-income family separate themselves from others, and do not make much contact with them. This leads in most cases to a mild form of autism, and even more often to a low self-esteem, which also affects the way a person struggles with his or her condition.

Secondly, a parent engaged in problems of a material nature is increasingly alienated from his children. His desire to overcome difficulties and problems by his own means leads to the fact that the parent somehow avoids the family and the upbringing of his children. They, in turn, suffer from lack of attention, love, affection and care. They begin to feel abandoned, unnecessary, and the realization that they can not help, makes their condition even more tragic. An interesting fact is that previously parents did not allow their children to work, encouraging them to study, and believing that earning is only their business. But over time, and even more so in today's world, adolescents increasingly earn their own money, and parents only encourage them to do so.

Another of the important characteristics of low-income families will be the desire to blame others for their misfortunes. They like to act as accusers in a state of fury and rejection of the world around them. Moreover, those who have already tried to change their condition, but failed in their plans, are very afraid to expose themselves to risk again. From their position, the simplest is the decision to abstract and accept the positions of rejection of the surrounding world. Such families struggle in their own way with difficulties.

An important feature is also the lack of initiative, passivity, inability to set goals and achieve them. Often the inertial motive of behavior works, such people will better work in their specialty and earn a penny, than to look for new offers in the market and take risks, which they are very afraid of.

It follows that the socio-psychological health of low-income families is very low. Such people occupy a passive position in everything. Remember that apathetic attitude towards work, children leads to apathy to life. Sometimes it is worth thinking about and reviewing the plans of your actions, directing your aggression not to the surrounding society, to actions, in order to make your family's position better.
