Cake from the liver At the mention of the word "cake", the imagination draws us a beautifully decorated multi-storey, interlaced with several layers of cream, a sweet confectionery, served as a dessert at the end of a festive dinner. Therefore, the phrase "hepatic cake" in some people can cause surprise and bewilderment: what connection can be between a meat by-product and this miracle of confectionery art? In fact, this gorgeous snack is named precisely because it also consists of several thin cakes, prepared from liver minced meat, each of which is smeared with various fillings. The recipe for a liver cake came to us from Ukrainian cuisine, although many consider it only their own. You can cook liver cake from any liver: beef, pork, chicken or turkey, and in each case the taste will be excellent, and only the structure of the cakes will differ. More homogeneous they are obtained from chicken liver, fine-grained - from turkey, and from beef - coarse-grained. Many housewives preparing a hepatic cake for a festive table decorate it so expertly that guests do not always understand that before them it is an appetizer, not a dessert. Try and you hit your guests with an original liver cake, cooked it according to our recipe.
Ingredients:- Chicken liver 500g
- Eggs of chicken 4 pcs.
- Sour cream 2 tbsp. l.
- Wheat flour 0.5 tbsp.
- Salt 2 pinch
- Pepper black ground 2 pinch
- Sunflower refined sunflower oil 2 tbsp. l.
- Carrot 2 pcs.
- Onions 3 pcs.
- Sunflower refined sunflower oil 2 tbsp. l.
- Mayonnaise 5 tbsp. l.
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Step 1 To prepare the liver cake, we will need chicken liver, onions, carrots, eggs, sour cream, flour and spices.
- Step 2 Let's start with the filling - carrots washed and rubbed on a coarse grater.
- Step 3 Peel the onion and cut into half rings.
- Step 4 Preheat 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan, fry the onions with carrots until golden.
- Step 5 5-6 tablespoons of mayonnaise together with garlic, squeezed through garlic.
- Step 6 To make a liver test, wash the liver, cut and pass through a meat grinder.
- Step 7 Then add 2 eggs, 2 full spoons of sour cream, flour and salt with pepper.
- Step 8 Mix everything well.
- Step 9 In a frying pan, heat 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, cook with a liver dough - a pancake is about 15 cm in diameter.
- Step 10 Fry on both sides over medium heat.
- Step 11 It turns out about 5-6 pancakes-cakes.
- Step 12 Put one cake on a plate and grease thinly with mayonnaise with garlic.
- Step 13 Then spread 2-3 tablespoons of roast on the crust.
- Step 14 Cover with the next cake and repeat steps 12 and 13.
- Step 15 Top the cake thinly grease with mayonnaise.
- Step 16 Boil 2 hard-boiled eggs (10 minutes from the boiling point), mash the yolks with a fork and sprinkle them with the upper cake of the liver cake. Let the cake soak for 1-2 hours.
