Pie from Greece This wonderful cake was prepared by Jamie Oliver during his trip to Athens. Greek cuisine is sophistication, variety, but at the same time absolute dominance of olives and olive oil, which is used almost in every dish. Our cake was no exception. Its classic version has pistachios in its composition, but we will prepare it with almonds.
Ingredients:- Eggs chicken 5 pcs.
- Olive oil 200 ml
- Baking powder 1 tsp.
- Groats manna 200 g
- Wheat Flour 150 g
- Orange 1 pc.
- Lemon 1 pc.
- Walnut 75 g
- Sugar powder 225 g
- Yoghurt 220 ml
- Lemon 1 pc.
- Honey 100 g
- Almond 150g
- Orange 1 pc.
- Step 1 We need: eggs, natural yoghurt without additives, sugar powder, chopped walnuts, lemon, orange, flour, semolina, baking powder, olive oil, almonds and honey.
- Step 2 We drive into a large bowl of eggs and add yogurt.
- Step 3 Add the powdered sugar.
- Step 4 Fall asleep crushed walnuts.
- Step 5 We rub the zest of one lemon and one orange.
- Step 6 Then add the flour, semolina and baking powder.
- Step 7 Pour in the olive oil and mix everything well.
- Step 8 Lubricate the form with olive oil and sprinkle with flour.
- Step 9 Pour our dough into a mold and put it in a preheated oven to 180 ° C for 35-40 minutes.
- Step 10 In the meantime, prepare the syrup. We take almonds, lightly shake it, so that there is whole and chopped nut in the syrup.
- Step 11 Fill the almonds with honey, add the juice of one lemon and one orange.
- Step 12 Stir well the syrup.
- Step 13 Get the cake out of the oven, after 35-40 minutes.
- Step 14 We pierce the pie with a knife in many places.
- Step 15 Pour the syrup from above, level it and let it brew for 15-20 minutes. You have 2 ways to make a cake tasty (pour cold syrup on a hot cake or pour hot syrup onto a cooled pie). Only so syrup can soak the cake as needed. Bon Appetit!
